Luke 2:13-14
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”
Reflection
The proclamation of peace by the heavenly host highlights the significance of Jesus' birth as a message of hope for all people. It brings to mind Isaiah's prophecy (our reading on Day 1) about Jesus being called the "Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6) and foreshadows His ministry of reconciliation and ultimate sacrifice for humanity's sins.
Grace in Action Sunday is on the Decemeber 22nd, a perfect opportunity to reflect on Christ's peace and how we can embody it in our actions towards others.
Action
Take time today to pray for someone in your life who may be struggling with finding peace. Offer them words of encouragement and support. Reflect on ways you can extend that same peace to those around you through acts of kindness and reconciliation.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for giving us Your Son, Jesus, whose birth brings us everlasting peace. As we get closer to Grace in Action Sunday, help us think about His message of reconciliation and work to spread peace and harmony to everyone. Guide us to be instruments of Your love, reaching out to those in need and offering comfort and hope. We pray for Your peace to fill our hearts and the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
